Maddie ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you visit our website (the "Site") or use the Maddie Chrome Extension (the "Extension").

Maddie operates on a token-based usage model, where users purchase digital tokens that are consumed based on feature usage.

By using the Site or Extension, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

A. Website Data (Landing Page)
Analytics: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized data about visitors (e.g., pages visited, time on site) to improve our website experience.
Contact Form: If you use our contact page, we collect your name and email address to respond to your inquiries.
Token Purchases: If you purchase tokens, payments are processed via Stripe. We do not store your credit card information on our servers; it is handled securely by Stripe. We store transaction metadata necessary for accounting, fraud prevention, and token balance management.
B. Extension Data (Chrome Extension)
Authentication Data: We collect your email address and authentication tokens via Supabase for account synchronization and session persistence.
Token Usage Data: We store information about token consumption events (e.g., feature usage, token deductions, timestamps) for billing transparency, fraud prevention, and service improvement.
Usage Data: We collect minimal, anonymized data about feature interactions to improve service quality.
Browser Context: To provide AI insights, Maddie reads the URL, Page Title, and minimal metadata from supported streaming platforms.
Important: Maddie does not record your screen, capture audio, or track browsing activity on sites unrelated to supported movie/TV streaming services.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:
  • Provide and personalize the Extension’s features.
  • Deduct tokens based on feature usage and maintain accurate token balances.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized token manipulation.
  • Ensure the AI provides relevant, spoiler-free content.
  • Maintain and improve the performance of our Site and Extension.
  • Authenticate users and maintain active sessions.
  • Respond to support requests and process token purchases.

4. Data Storage and Security

Supabase: We use Supabase to store authentication, account-related data, and token balances using industry-standard encryption.
Local Storage: The Extension uses Chrome's `storage` API to keep user preferences local to the browser.
Stripe: Payment data is managed by Stripe, following PCI-DSS standards.We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

5. Third-Party Services

We may share information with:
  • Supabase: For user management and database services.
  • AI Service Providers: To process user queries. We do not send personally identifiable information unless necessary for service functionality.
  • Google Analytics: For website performance monitoring.
  • Stripe: For secure token purchase processing.
These providers process data according to their own privacy policies and applicable regulations.

6. Token Policy Transparency

Tokens are digital usage credits purchased by users and consumed when using specific features of the Extension.

We store token balances and transaction logs to ensure transparency, accurate usage tracking, fraud prevention, and internal accounting.

Users can view their token balance within their account interface.

Token purchases are generally non-refundable unless required by applicable law.

7. Ownership and Nature of Tokens

Tokens are digital, virtual usage credits that have no monetary value outside the Maddie platform. Tokens do not constitute currency, electronic money, financial instruments, stored value, or property rights of any kind.

Users purchase a limited, revocable license to use tokens within the Maddie ecosystem. Tokens remain part of the Maddie service environment and do not represent ownership of any underlying assets or rights.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify, suspend, discontinue, reset, delete, or terminate the token system or the entire project at any time. In such cases, unused tokens may be deleted without compensation.

Token purchases are final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law. Users are not entitled to refunds, exchanges, or monetary compensation for unused tokens in the event of account closure, service termination, or project discontinuation.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You may:
  • Request access to or deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
  • Uninstall the Extension at any time to stop further data collection.
  • Disable cookies in your browser settings.
If you are located in the European Union, you may have additional rights under GDPR, including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, or request data portability.
